Job Description

  • Counterpart for Controlling International
  • Standardize and integrate local controlling processes and practices
  • Act as key contact for Corporate Controlling in a country and standardize / integrate local controlling processes and practices (incl.
  • legal entity controlling)

  • Ensure implementation of and adherence to global Controlling strategy and directives and implementation and operation of global and local systems, tools and processes as well as alignment of global guidance with local specifics
  • Strive for continued process optimization, synergies and innovation
  • Country Controlling process operation and execution
  • Provide high-quality reporting information and knowledge- and judgment-based analysis in standardized format to the Finance Business Partner for decision support
  • Helping to steer the operational business of Bayer and its divisions by having full process ownership
  • Coordinate, operate and execute country planning & forecasting / OPC and QBR for CPL
  • Operate and execute divisional country planning & forecasting according to guidance from Finance BP
  • Define allocation keys in line with pertinent rules
  • Coordinate, operate and execute country reporting
  • Coordinate, operate and execute country planning & forecasting / OPC and QBR
  • Review country information, analyze causes and effects and derive decision needs : Value drivers & KPIs, P&L, cash flow, capital expenditures, working capital, costs, capacities, projects & efficiencies
  • Manage R&D Controlling (if organized in the country)
  • Manage PS Controlling (for local sites)
  • Coordinate, operate and execute transactional activities of divisional Marketing & Sales support (e. g. sample processing, sales force incentive processing, CRM transactional reporting and analysis) if not organized within Commercial Support
  • Platform Controlling
  • Effectively partner with the CFO and the country (group) leadership team
  • Provide Controlling service to CFO / SBR / country (group) leadership team on planning & forecasting / OPC and QBR results and measures
  • Provide transparency to CLT regarding Platform costs and allocations
  • Support CPL management and take functional controlling role for CPL functions
  • Take legal entity controlling role (P&L, alignment with tax and transfer pricing)
  • Generate a country view

  • Provide leadership to Central Controlling team with aim of creating and sustaining a spirit that is based on a high performance team culture
  • Manage talent pool ; strive for cross-functional / cross-divisional talent exchange together with the CFO and Finance BP(s)
  • Qualifications (Education, skills, experiences)

  • Master degree in economics or finance
  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience with increasing responsibility
  • 10 years of experience in financial and controlling functions; preferred : Business budgeting, control, procurement chain and strategic planning as well as an in-
  • depth understanding of the complexities of financial and business transactions of a global operating business

  • Experience with developing and implementing accounting and finance principles and practices; Project management of larger projects;
  • Senior Financial & Management Responsibilities; preferred : Experience with multiple business groups or businesses, experience working in international organizations

  • Advanced skills to analyze business and financial trends in order to make sound business decisions - anticipating future market developments
  • Strong management, leadership, organizational and communication skills are necessary to effectively interact and influence all levels of management throughout the Bayer organization to ensure the coordination of CFO platform activities for the division
  • Strong networking capabilities to maneuver within the matrix organization between backbone functions and the division
  • Knowledge of the economic and business environment in (country / subregion)
  • Analytical skills, structured approach, proactive and self-motivated
